Jerusalem

Day 1

Arrival to the Ben Gurion International airport, Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival into Ben Gurion International Airport, you are met and assisted by Isra Home Tours airport representative. Transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

Tiberias

Day 2

After breakfast, drive to Caesarea Maritima. Visit the spectacular Roman Theater , Herod’s Palace, the Palace of the Roman Procurator, the Amphitheater and the Crusaders’ City and Harbor. On our way to the north we will be able to witness how perseverance and hard work of a small group of people transform the face of the earth, having visited Zichron Yaakov. Next we station is Mount Carmel where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. From the Mount we will have a beautiful view of the Jezreel Plain, site of many Biblical events. Transfer to your hotel in Tiberias. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3

After breakfast, drive through the Golan Heights where the crucial battles of the Six Day War were fought in 1967. Drive along Israel’s border with Syria and stop at the Kuneitra overlook. We then proceed to the ancient Caesarea Philippi, now known as Banias. Open your Bible among the ruins of pagan temples to consider the words Jesus spoke here: “Who do people say the Son of Man is?” As was at Dan, you’ll also enjoy the natural beauty of Banias nestled on the flourishing banks of one the Jordan’s main tributaries. On the second part of the day we will raft down the Jordan River on kayaks. Much fun and positive impact: even our Lord Jesus knew how to rest and to enjoy life!!! Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4

After breakfast, we will drive to the Mount of Beatitudes where the Sermon on the Mount was held. From there hike “the Jesus Path” to Tabgha, for a visit of the Church of the Loaves and the Fish. We continue to hike “the Jesus Path” to Capernaum, the town of Jesus, where he lived performing from there his miracles and healings. We’ll stop at the site of a synagogue where Jesus had preached to the local community. After a biblical lunch with St. Peter’s fish we will enjoy the boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus walked on the water. The day will be ended in the Southern part of the Sea of Galilee at the Yardenit Baptismal site.

Day 5

After breakfast, drive to Cana and visit the church that stands on the spot where Jesus performed his first miracle. Then we continue to Nazareth to visit the Church of Annunciation and Church Synagogue. The Synagogue Church – tradition says this is the spot, one memorable Sabbath day, where Jesus stood to proclaim and preach the stirring words of Isaiah. The last stop in Nazareth area is Mount of Precipice across the Jezreel Valley, sometimes called “the battlefield of the Bible” and now Israel’s breadbasket. Drive south to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 6

After breakfast we start our day from Mount of Olives for the breathtaking view on the Old City of Jerusalem and Kedron valley. After that we will proceed to Gethsemane and visit the church of all nations. Then we will enter the Old City of Jerusalem at Jaffa Gate on foot. Visit Christ Church, first Protestant church in the Middle East, and then proceed to the Tower of David and its exhibition on the history of the city over the ages. Walk through the streets of the Jewish Quarter to the restored Roman Cardo, which was the main street of Jerusalem during the Roman occupation. Continue to the Western Wall, the last remnant of the second temple. Walk along the Via Dolorosa passing the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

Day 7

After breakfast drive to Jaffa (Joppa) and visit this old city, then we’ll enjoy free time in Tel Aviv and swimming in Mediterranean Sea. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 8

After breakfast drive to Gush Ezion area. Walk along the Patriarch’s Highway which begins near Alon Shvut, travelled by Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as mentioned in biblical narratives. After we will visit Yad Hashmona, Messianic village near Jerusalem and see the Biblical garden that will help us to understand more deeply the meaning of many Biblical stories. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Day 9

After breakfast, we will drive south to the Judean desert via the Good Samaritan Inn to the mountain fortress of Masada, stronghold of the Jews in the war against the Romans. We descend down the side of the fortress for a possible “dip” and “float” in the salty water of the Dead Sea, the world’s lowest place. On the way back to Jerusalem, stop in Qumran, the place where the Dead Sea scrolls were found in a cave by a shepherd 70 years ago. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

Departure

Day 10

Transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for departure flight.
